Accessibility

Last reviewed: 2026-05-01

LocalWorks is software for piano businesses — tuners, movers, dealers, and storage operators. We believe everyone, including people who use assistive technology, should be able to run their business with our tools and book appointments through our public booking pages.

Standard we aim for

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our public surfaces — landing pages, customer booking flow, estimate / quote / invoice share pages, and customer self-service portals. Operator-facing screens (the dashboard, calendar, settings) have not yet been audited end-to-end against WCAG 2.1 AA; we are working toward that standard there too, and welcome specific feedback from operators using assistive technology while we get there.

Where we are

LocalWorks is in alpha. Some screens have been audited against WCAG 2.1 AA; others are still being reviewed. Known gaps we are working on include:

  • Color contrast on a small number of branded gradient buttons — under audit and being adjusted.
  • Aria-labels on icon-only buttons across the operator-facing dashboard — being added systematically.
  • Keyboard-only navigation paths on the customer booking flow — under verification.

We commit to publishing a more detailed conformance statement once our pre-launch audit is complete.

What you can expect from us

  • Semantic HTML and meaningful headings throughout the app.
  • Forms that work with keyboard navigation and screen readers, with labeled inputs and inline error messages.
  • Color combinations that meet contrast minimums, with text never the sole indicator of meaning (icons, badges, and labels too).
  • Descriptive alt text on images that carry meaning.
  • Captioning on any video content we publish.
  • Keyboard focus indicators visible on all interactive elements.

Report an issue

If you run into a barrier using LocalWorks — anything that makes the product hard or impossible to use with your assistive technology of choice — we want to hear about it. We treat accessibility reports with the same urgency as any other product issue.

Email us at accessibility@localworks.app with as much detail as you can:

  • The page or screen where you ran into a problem.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • What happened (and what you expected).
  • The assistive technology you were using, if relevant.

We aim to respond within one business day and follow up with a fix timeline as fast as we can.
